Peggy Baker honoured with 2009 Governor General Lifetime Achievement Award
The eight recipients of the 2009 Governor General Performing Arts Awards were announced in Toronto at a ceremony held at the Young Centre.
Peggy Baker was celebrated for her lifetime of achievement in dance. Peggy will be attending a gala event at the National Arts Centre on May 9 to receive the award, during which emerging and established Canadian artists will be showcased.

VSA programming at the Kennedy Arts Centre 2010
Instead of focusing on another country, the major festival at the Kennedy Center next year will focus on another landscape: the terrain inhabited by artists with various disabilities, from deafness to diabetes, around the world. This was a highlight of the 2009-10 season schedule, which the Kennedy Center announced at a news conference yesterday.
